What is a soul retrieval?
A soul retrieval happens when a piece of your soul that was once lost is healed and returns home to your body.
It is said that sometimes when we experience traumatic events, a part of our soul leaves in order to cope with the pain. While this is necessary at the time, it may not be helpful later in life. Maybe you felt betrayed by a family member in the past, and as an adult you’ve noticed that you never seem to want to get too close to anyone. You can see how this was a good protection at the time, but that later on it can affect your ability to create any lasting relationships with good people.
When a part of your soul is reintegrated into your body, you might feel a sense of freedom, more awareness, or simply feel whole again. Everyone’s experiences are unique.
Something to keep in mind is that even if you want a soul retrieval, the timing must be appropriate. Your entire being needs to be ready to receive the healing. You might go to your practitioner asking for one but it may not happen until your second or third visit. It might be similar to, say, wanting to reconnect with your estranged sister after 20 years. You may have wanted to do it for a long time, but doing it at the right moment when you’re ready to encounter all the good and bad emotions that come with it is important.
Many of us often think that healing involves only feeling good emotions; that it is a perpetual state of bliss and any uncomfortable feelings just roll off your back. The reality is that healing can involve great joy and also pain. For instance, finally grieving for a good friend who passed away would bring up a lot of pain, but there would finally be acknowledgement and release of your emotions. There can be acceptance of painful feelings without lingering control over your everyday life.
