Taking the Good Along with the Bad

During or after a healing, whether a personal session or group ceremony, trauma may be lifted to the surface, felt, and processed. The energy from this moment needs to be discharged or purged so that it is not reabsorbed back into the body. When some people hear the word "purge", they immediately think of vomiting, however, you release physical and emotional toxins in many ways, including sweating, coughing, spitting, defecating, crying, laughing, a relationship may dissolve, you may transition through jobs or living situations, etc.

Sometimes we get so accustomed to just living with and tolerating pain because it can be scary to feel the full weight of our emotions even if we know that it means finally reaching the other side of something difficult. It can be uncomfortable especially if there are heavy emotions that have been packed away, but embracing the bad with the good is a necessary part of the healing process.
