It's often talked about to be kind to and care for ourselves; respecting personal boundaries, resting, and finding time to do the things that make us happy. Yet, sometimes we can forget that we are part of a larger whole, that we would not be where we are without help from our friends, family, and community. Maybe in the past, you've received supplies from a food bank, used free healthcare services at a local clinic, or a friend invited you to stay with them when you were having a tough time.
Perhaps along with taking care of ourselves, we can find a way to support the people and organizations that have helped us. You could volunteer, donate money or food and clothes to a local charity, or help out the friend who was there for you in your time of need.
Support is so important, whether it is given or received. It reminds us that we are not alone, and helps us maintain connection with those around us.
